Here comes the summer. Everyone starts planning all the fun and exciting outdoor adventures and activities and so does Boston SJTU AA!
On June 29, 2013, twenty SJTUers and friends of SJTUers gathered together at Boston Paintball center in Chelsea, MA.
Twenty people were made up of ten girls and ten boys who are in their twenties, alumni of SJTU, graduate students from MIT, BU, BC, NEU and were split into two teams with five girls and five boys each.
Before heading to the field, everyone put on camouflage coats and was equipped with paintball guns, goggles and etc.
It is not a game that simple and it is very real. Two teams fought against each other intensely through eight battles in four hours. At the very beginning, teams were not skilled in tactics or anything, but experience was accumulating quickly and everyone became more and more professional.
It is not about individual and it is about teamwork. Everyone in the same team worked together. While the other moved forward, another team member would give cover. No matter boys or girls, nobody retreat until they used up all the paintballs.
It is a good activity and it builds bonds among people. Some people felt sore and painful afterwards but nobody treat it a big deal. The activity ended up in a big dinner and celebrating with food and drinks until midnight!
SJTU AA appreciates everyone’s hard work and wants to give special thanks to people who helped organize, drive and provide food and water. We hope we will have more opportunities to meet more SJTUers in the future activities. Stay tuned!
